Black Skimmer – Chirp

https://gpaulrandall.wordpress.com/2015/08/03/black-skimmer

Birding and Blogging in Galveston, Texas. On Boddeker Rd. at the east end of Galveston Island. My idea is that the bird’s massive head developed to support the considerable bone and muscle structure needed to be able to drop that lower bill into the water like that and withstand the force. Look at that wingspan! Black pigmentation on bills and feathers is structural and helps prevent wear, I have read. August 3, 2015. Leave a Reply Cancel reply. Enter your comment here. Birding and Blogging in Galveston, Texas. With no rain in weeks the marshy ponds on Boddeker Rd. are shrinking drastically. I stopped by Saturday morning before work and there was a nice variety of bird life gathered. Black Skimmers. Great and Snowy Egrets. Youngster came scampering out of the reeds and wandered so close to where I was standing I couldn’t get focus with my 400mm prime! Young birds can be so incautious. Clapper Rails. August 2, 2015. Understanding begins with the willingness to understand. The act of putting pen to paper encourages pause for thought, this in turn makes us think more deeply about life, which helps us regain our equilibrium. Norbet Platt. Filed under: Naughty Notes. Mdash; 2 Comments. June 17, 2013. I love to go a wandering…and today I was inspired by helenvalentina.com …and Lewis Caroll of course 🙂. Have I stumbled backwards in time? She mused to herself, brushing the leaves from her stockings. It’s almost too neat!

Filed under: notes pinned to his wall. Mdash; 2 Comments. June 16, 2013. After we make love. We are like the ground after rain. Heavy and sodden with the sighs we spent. And fertile with new love for the universe. The moss between my thighs. Glows a strange steam.

A Poem a Day by M.E. David | Don't read this, it is not for you…

A Poem a Day by M.E. David. Don't read this, it is not for you…. I Saw Black Eyes. People of the Sorrows. June 24, 2013. The last of the old ways to fight. The demons are all but gone. The battle is upon us but the war is won. You are the certain might. The sword of power, the ring of light. You stand aloft the halls of the dead. You found my heart and into it you read. Tomes of wonder and the spirit of strength. A home to ponder thus far my life’s length. Have I squandered all my blessings by some vice.

Like what you see here? Drop Pete a line and let him know! The Good Old Days. Enjoy a taste of gloucester. I take my stroll by the ocean's sand. Amazed by how the tide smoothes the shore. Taking pictures of the Man at the Wheel. Paying a quarter for the harbor to explore. Catching my breath as I admire such sites. As the Lighthouse beyond Ten Pound Island. Or the majesty of Hammond’s castle at night. Or our golden beaches to bask on. The oceans wave pounding the back shore. All the murals inside City Hall.
