Curve For a Strike: February 2012
http://curveforastrike.blogspot.com/2012_02_01_archive.html
Painting the corners, one pitch at a time. Sunday, February 19, 2012. Sticking with the running. Of celebrating pitchers and catchers reporting - a Shakespearian sonnet:. The grassy fields of Hammond Stadium. Are live this morn with sound of bat and glove. Walkways and bleachers filled with fandom's hum. As sunlight and hope stream from skies above. Mauer stretches and tests an achy knee,. While Cisco winds and loosens up his arm,. And Revere runs the fields smiling with glee. Tuesday, February 14, 2012.

Painting the corners, one pitch at a time. Thursday, June 27, 2013. Those Damn Yankees: A Minnesota Twinkie in King Rivera's Court. This article also published on Twins Daily. Then came my salvation - high school graduation and my predestined move to the heart of Yankeeland. I packed away my #42 shirsey and hopped a plane to New York, never looking back. Surrounded by own kind. I've been here 10 years and things never should have been better. Except I can't stand the Yankees anymore. But in stark contras...

Painting the corners, one pitch at a time. Monday, April 11, 2011. Losing Is a Disease (and other thoughts). All I can remember from playing baseball - or other organized sports for that matter - is that when you get in a funk, it's really tough to break out. It seems like all the breaks go the wrong way and that there's no way to build momentum. View more Frank Carpenter Sound Clips. And The Natural Sound Clips. Thome hit 590 Sunday. If the injury bug keeps forcing him into the lineup on a more cons...

Like butterflies with hiccups. About “Knuckleballs”. About “Knuckleballs”. Milwaukee, extra innings & a telephoto lens! 24 May, 2010. KL and I went to the Milwaukee game on Saturday. What a beautiful day for baseball – especially EXTRA baseball! I brought my camera along because she has a pretty good view from her seats up in 322 and I thought maybe I would bring the big lens and get some pictures. Boy, did I! It’s amazing how much fun you can have watching a game through a telephoto lens! Elizabethton T...

2011 Toronto Blue Jays. The Blue Jay lineup will score some runs and their starting staff has some upside. They will win their share of games. I doubt Jose Bautista. Repeats 2010 so they will need a couple of other players to step forward. They traded for Rajai Davis. Toronto claimed Edwin Encarnacion. Off waivers. He will get some at bats at 1B or he could end up getting full time at bats at DH. The starting rotation has some talent. It sounds like Kyle Drabek. Other Options: Jesse Litsch. Pitched well ...

When Tricia heard the beep, she asked for the phone. She looked at the number and saw it was from back home. When she played back the message, she started to get sick to her stomach and dropped the phone and headed for the bathroom. I asked who it was and she told me it was Vickie. Vickie was a friend of hers who was staying at our house. She was watching Alana (Brenna’s 3 year old daughter and Tricia’s granddaughter) along with Alana’s grandfather from the fathers side. And what does non-responsive mean?
