I'll have my adventure with butter and jam, please. I’m back in the US, now. A long break from the blog, for me, though it was invisible thanks to the scheduling feature on WordPress. I considered leaving with my last post — the three hundredth on this blog! 8212; and disappearing into the wildness of America. Which I probably will do. But the question I know I have had for every returning expat is on my mind: What is it like to come home? Well, for one thing, the view is nice. What even IS string cheese?

Joy in the Journey. Friday, January 6, 2012. Catching up with some of our Christmas pictures for you. Em and her doll after Christmas Eve church. Grandma always has a scavenger hunt with them after our Christmas Eve dinner. They run around her house finding clues that lead them to a little gift. Sammy was excited to join in on the fun this year! Em and I made this beauty for Christmas morning breakfast. It was a yummy treat to snack on all afternoon! Nathan was excited to get a Joe Flacco.

Joy in the Journey. Friday, January 6, 2012. We love spending quiet nights in on New Years Eve.and Nathan and Emily love the thrill of staying up til' midnight! We had Grandma and Paw Paw over for dinner, we watched movies, played games, watched the ball drop and were tucked in bed by 12:15! The kids wanted to have appetizers for dinner. We had been praying about the Lord's timing and starting adoption #2 and could not believe we were being given the chance to adopt the sibling of our sweet boy! We needed to update our home study and do it fast! I honestly thought that the journey of waiting so long for our first adoption was hard, but this experience was ten times harder! Joy in the Journey. Thursday, June 30, 2011. My main project I wanted to tackle this summer was a kitchen makeover of our countertop. And cabinets. One of these days I'll remember that big do-it-yourself projects mean a lot of hard work and sweat! We started by taking down the valance over the window and prepping the countertops.
