The Wandering Anchorite

Or What I Did At Theological College. Monday, 13 June 2011. Sermon for Mattins, Pentecost. Here I am, resurfacing only when posting a sermon! Preaching at Mattins is an interesting experience - quite different to the Eucharist, where the main point of the service is still to come; here it's hard not to feel like it's a bit of an appendix. But it was very good to have a chance to come at Pentecost from a different angle, wonderful though the Eucharist's readings about the first gift of the Spirit are.

The Wandering Anchorite: December 2010

Or What I Did At Theological College. Saturday, 25 December 2010. Merry Christmas, everyone! I haven't anything very profound to say, other than that: but I just found this. Wonderful retelling of Luke 2 from Joseph's point of view, by the fantasy author Jo Walton. It's really rather lovely. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). The Wandering Anchorite: September 2010

Or What I Did At Theological College. Wednesday, 29 September 2010. Freshers' Week Bop, I mean Induction Week Gala Evening. My mental image of theological college had not, up till now, included a young man in a tweed jacket bopping to "Sexyback". But it does now. I was amused that the inaugural Eucharist involved the hymn Father hear the prayer we offer. Which as you may knows goes:. Father, hear the prayer we offer:. Not for ease that prayer shall be,. But for strength, that we may ever. Of course, that...

Or What I Did At Theological College. Sunday, 30 January 2011. At the moment I'm working on John's Gospel. Which is a fascinating text to grapple with, and there has been some very good recent criticism (Dorothy Lee's Flesh and Glory. In particular, is excellent). Oh well. Back to work - and to try to write sense in my own essay, about what literary perspectives can add to a theological understanding. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). View my complete profile. Guest Post: My Barcelona Nightlife Experience. We can stay out as long as we want. I remember I had to ask him to repeat himself as I’ve never heard of it before. So he began to explain how it works. He mentioned free drinks and meet new friends and we were sold. Neither I nor my friend has done it before so we thought it would be a good experience. As it turned out, the place where we met the guy was right outside the Gaelic BCN which happened to be the meeting point of the joiners of Pub Crawl Barcelona.
