A track/cyclocross racer’s first mountain bike race. A race report by C. Rippey. Race: CCCX XC July 19th. I did my first MTB race today. I really wanted to race this week but there were no interesting road races this weekend and I had the flu and couldn’t make Hellyer WNR, so I decided to take my CX bike and hit the Fort Ord CCCX XC race. I am not going to go into course details or strategies or anything thing like that. I am just going to state the facts. I rode solo for a good while. Tim takes 1st plac...

Seeking the Eye of the Storm: A Day at Silverwood
http://jennigaertner.blogspot.com/2008/08/day-at-silverwood.html
Seeking the Eye of the Storm. This is my attempt to add some order to my chaotic, but mostly boring life.to keep you all in the know. Sometimes, when all seems out of control, I just need to slow down long enough to find center - and there's the calm. Sunday, August 10, 2008. A Day at Silverwood. Today is our 12th anniversary. Crazy stuff, that is. Especially when I think that really, we've been together for 15 years. Wow! Riverstone Women's Racing Team. August 10, 2008 at 11:00 PM. Coeur D Alene Tri Club.

Six Day: Day Six-Hotness and the Laziest Bike Racer EVER! I think not, kind of pathetic. I just wanted to get it over with. Next! On the podium in 1st for the day. Congrats to everyone. If you look closely you can see the big loopy bows we wore in our hair. For the past three days we kept adding ribbons, so they were pretty obnoxious by today. Final podium shot. Thanks to all the ladies who came out to make it a great week of racing. See you next year! Six Day: Day Five-Are we done yet? Six Day is here&#...

Ike's Bike: May 2008
http://ikesbike.blogspot.com/2008_05_01_archive.html
Saturday, May 31, 2008. Where the hell have I been? It has been nearly two and a half months since my last post and surprisingly, not much has happened since then (at least related to my training). There have been a couple of things happen, which I will cover, but not much considering the amount of time that has passed. So.why the long absence you ask? What has happened since my last post? First, I raced in my first race (pictures below as proof) The race was the Monsters of the Midway Criterium. All mil...

Ike's Bike: October 2008
http://ikesbike.blogspot.com/2008_10_01_archive.html
Thursday, October 16, 2008. Into the Dark Months of Winter. I haven't done a lot of riding. Two Saturday's ago I rode with Mitchel Merrill on a 50 mile ride, which is a requirement for the cycling merit badge. I have commuted to work on the bike once or twice a week but in general I have not been on the bike that much. Coach Mark has instructed me to basically take October off and we will start my winter program on November 1st. Which I ruined taking it off before the LOTOJA. And road races but I am resi...
