2014 Professional Development Session. This website was established as part of a professional development session for the 2014 SACNAS. National Conference. The goal of this session is to inform undergraduate and graduate student SACNAS members about how to start research careers in computational biology and bioinformatics. Additionally, we are curating resources on this site, thus providing access to the broader community. The session will take place on Friday, October 17, 2014 at 8:30 AM.

Field Museum of Natural History. Skip to primary content. Skip to secondary content. MOLECULAR & MICROBIAL RESOURCES. I am interested in the origin and evolution of species, and in particular, how symbiosis may influence patterns of diversification. More specifically I am interested in how we can use diverse tools including molecular methods, next-generation sequencing, and comparative genomics with field-based research to unravel the tempo and mode of the evolution of biodiversity. My main research inte...

http://mlandis.github.io/about
Hello My name is Michael Landis. I study evolution by developing probabilistic models, writing open source and community-minded software, and analysing simulated and empirical data. My current research interests include phylogenetics, historical biogeography, continuous trait evolution, and Bayesian inference. In December 2015, I received my PhD in Integrative Biology (with a designated emphasis in Computational and Genomic Biology) under the advisory of John Huelsenbeck. Studying with Michael Donoghue.
